Little known, but once acclaimed the most beautiful beach on earth, Grace Bay on Turks & Caicos Island is our secluded sandy spot to relax and flee the world. The water is warm and blue and the beaches white and clean. The hardest part is leaving at the end of the week.

There is an island off the coast of Thailand called Ko Samet. On the east side of the island is HatSaiKaeo. Between the amazing Thai food that is caught, prepared and served on the beach, the bungalows that allow you to open your front door and step onto the beach, the quaint village, the jungle that still covers 80% of the island, and the clear water and stunning natural beauty, HatSaiKaeo on Ko Samet turned out to be the perfect beach for my family and me. We highly recommend it!
For sentimental reasons, I would have to say Coronado Island in San Diego. There's nothing exotic about it but I have the fondest childhood memories of running up and down that beach from dawn until dusk. No beach will ever outdo Coronado for me.
When I was younger I was visiting mom who lived on the island of kuai in Hawaii. One day I decided to hike out to the famous lighthouse which had quite beautiful views. While I was up there I noticed off in the distance what looked like a beautiful beach with great waves that was protected by sheer black cliffs, the water was a gorgeous turquoise color and the sand looked like it could have been snow it was so white.
I was in kuai for the entire summer so I made it my mission to find that beach.
To make a long story short I finally found the beach, there was just a tiny trail off the side of the highway that wound through a thick jungly canyon for about a mile. Once I got off the trail I found that the beach was more wonderous that I had anticipated; from the shear cliffs a fresh water fountain trickled out, the sand was soft on my feet and the water was perfect. The waves made a perfect A-frame so it made it a lot of fun to body surf. And the beach had all sorts of cool secrets that were a lot of fun to explore.
The best part was that I was totally alone on the beach, or so I thought.
I had arrived early in the day because I didn't know what to expect on the hike in. As the day progressed and I had exhausted my energy exploring this wonderous beach I was coming out of the water, when I noticed a group of the beaches regular patrons arrive. To my shock and amazement what looked like a herd of sasquatches emerged single file through the dense jungle...
On closer inspection I realized that they were not sasquatches but the harriest naked hippies you have ever seen. They apparently liked to enjoy the beach in a style a little more "free" than my own. They set their beach equipment down (which was devoid of clothes, to my dissapointment) and one of them proceeded to bathe in the beautiful freshwater spring that had been clean up to that point. The others spread out and made their presence known by walking up and down the beach, or playing naked frisbee, or other details that have been burned into my memory.
Needless to say, my friend and I decided to pack up and be on our way.
And that is how I came to find the most beautiful beach in the entire world, but was sadly guarded by naked sasquatches.
The Caribbean beaches are second to none. For travelers interested in preserving cultural and ecological integrity of popular tourist destinations, there's a great resource hosted by the Organization of American States. www.caribbean-experiences.com

I loved Patong Beach in Phuket, Thailand but I have heard that there are some beaches over there that are even more incredible. I can't wait to take another 24 hour flight someday to check them out. :)
I am from Santa Barbara so for me Santa Barbara Beach and Stern's Warf is breathtaking i would stay down there for hours and the sun sets are amazing, living just a few blocks away from the beach being down there at night and just hearing the ocean was sooo peaceful.......
