Sunny Mexico

It just got too cold in Israel so we took a flight to Mexico City to bask in a little sunshine. From Mexico City we took a very nice First class bus to Queretaro and then a not so 1st class bus to San Miguel de Allende. San Miguel is a UNESCO heritage site that has been very well preserved from colonial days. It is a lovely…See More

Quick Visit to City by the Bay

My son asked me to join him for a day trip to San Francisco so we flew up early and took a quick walk around to see a few sites. He wanted to avoid the typical tourists things this trip so we just walked along the bay and over the Golden Gate Bridge.…See More

A Little Extra Help

Over the past 2 months we have been conducting surveys among 24 communities as a part of a large nutrition program sponsored by USAID. Beginning this month we will provide a specially formulated product to all children ages 6-24 months each day. This product has been shown to significantly reduce illness and death from the…See More

Bethlehem

We took a short side trip over to Bethlehem to see the birth Place of Jesus. Bethlehem is Palestinian controlled so we had to take Palestinian buses from Jerusalem. It took about half an hour to travel there and once arrived it was a completely different experience than we have had thus far. We did not even…

Jerusalem and Bethlehem

We decided to take a long walk through the old town section of Jerusalem. We first thought we might follow a walking tour outlined in a travel guide book. That lasted as far as the second attraction listed and we were hopelessly lost. Old town is anything but a grid and to try and follow any of the thousands…

Masada Near the Dead Sea

Early this morning we made our way to the Central bus station and caught a public bus to Masada on the south end of the Dead Sea. We had a beautiful day for weather and with rain in the forecast for the rest of the week, we wanted to get a bird's eye view of this famous and historic city on top of the…

Israel

My son and I jumped on a plane early this morning and flew to San Francisco, but since we had just been there, we took another plane to New York, but since it is cold in New York, we flew to Israel. And I am gonna tell you, that is a long time on an airplane. When we arrived in Tel Aviv, we immediately jumped…

It was amazing to see the the bike parking allotment in Copenhagen. With the prices so food and drinks so high and people riding bike more than cars, I would imagine people must be much healthier!
Thank You for sharing so many pictures, seem like I was on the clean streets, with the friendly people, listening to Jazz music.

Hi Joel. It will be fun to keep up on your adventures. I wish I could go on some with you. My "adventure" right now is looking for a house. We have made offers on 7 houses, but no luck so far. We have 5 weeks to be out of the house we are renting now, so we are feeling the pressure!
I hope everything is well with you and your wife.
