Most of today was spent searching for families with children who might benefit from our program. We have just been approved by a large organization to distribute a high vitamin peanut butter type of product especially designed to overcome many of the debilitating effects of malnutrition which is so pervasive here in Guatemala. Children 6 months to 2 years old will receive a packet of NutriButter each day that is so filled with nutrients and proteins that these kids should see some almost immediate results.  Malnutrition and growth stunting is so common among our Mayan communities that almost no child escapes its effects. For the next couple of months we will be doing surveys of every family in 15 different communities to identify all the children who will be receiving this product. We will then administer the distribution of this product to each family with small children. Each 3 months we will measure and weigh each child to determine how effective the program has been for them. We are honored to have been selected to participate in this program. In our survey, we are also gathering information about the family and the conditions that exist in their home to help us better tailor our program to their needs. We are excited about how well received we have been in each home.

Just have an Epinephrine shot available when you give it to the kids, peanut allergies are very common and dangerous!

What a fabulous opportunity to nourish the children. And an honor to be chosen to work with this company.
