Every Tuesday and Thursday we host a hot, nutritious lunch for all of our moms with their toddlers. You can't help but think these are special kids. They are so cute and love to see the gringos. We start our program essentially at conception by giving moms prenatal vitamins and eggs every week. When the baby is born we give them formula to compensate for the lack of mother’s milk due to their own malnutrition.

When the child progresses to 1 year old we replace the formula with an enriched soy drink called Encaperina that helps further their development. This continues until their 6th year when they enter the school at which time they come down everyday for lunch and lessons to enhance their existing education.

Beyond the food and formula, our moms get an hour of instruction each week on various topics ranging from nutrition in their homes to composting. The moms live in a very macho culture which does not value education in women and this opportunity to learn and share ideas is always well attended and engaging.

These women are so blessed to have an educational program that elevates and inspires them to expand their minds.
