My son asked me to join him for a day trip to San Francisco so we flew up early and took a quick walk around to see a few sites. He wanted to avoid the typical tourists things this trip so we just walked along the bay and over the Golden Gate Bridge.
As it turned out, we walked a bit more than I had expected for the time we were there. I mapped it and seems we covered about 21 miles on our sore feet. Came upon this beautiful bird down by the bay. Just as calm and happy as could be.
Even the Sea Gulls were not obnoxious. February is a nice time to see San Francisco.
The City does have some beautiful views and in spite of the blister I got, it was a wonderful walk.
We had heard about the beautiful murals in certain parts of the city so we took a long walk down 24th street downtown and really enjoyed some of the art.
Some of the art can be quite political in the statements it makes. But it is all very beautiful and brings so much color to otherwise drab parts of the city. What other country in the world could you paint the above mural and not create problems for yourself?
