2011 was a very good year for the kids at Casa de Sion in Los Robles, Guatemala. Our little foundation has fed over 350 small children and their moms every week this year. We have prepared a nutritious hot lunch and 3 hours of extra schooling for over 60 school kids from the local public elementary school each day. We have provided life saving formula to numerous mothers who are so malnourished they have no mother's milk for their infants. We have paid scholarships, uniforms and all supplies for 26 local kids to take their education beyond the state provided 6 years of school. We have distributed 140 large tubs of clothing to very needy families who have nothing. We have been there for countless medical and financial emergencies for the families in our surrounding communities. And sometimes I go to bed and can only be grateful for all THEY have done for me. I often feel like they have given so much with their smiles and huge thanks for things that cost so little. Too often I consider myself selfish for spending so much time with such constant rewards. These are special people and one only needs spend a few days with them to feel their powerful spirit and unconditional love. Yes, 2011 has been a very good year for the volunteers at Casa de Sion.

Thank you Joel, for posting all the "selfish" things you have done for Casa de Sion.  I have enjoyed every word and every picture.
